Amy's Final Goodbye
New material from the late Amy Winehouse is about to be released in December. News of this release comes just months after the tragic singers death at the age of 27.
The new album will be called Lioness: Hidden Treasures. It will include a slower version the Mark Ronson re-working of Valerie and will include a heartbreaking track about the cheating antics ex-husband Blake.
A surprise for me is they have include a song recorded when tragic Amy was under the influence of heroin. I don't think this should have been allowed to feature as it takes away some of the star's sparkle.
However with massive songs such as the Leon Russell track A Song For You, it will be a tough listen for true fans. Amy recorded her own version of this song with just her guitar and in one take.
It will be a haunting experience as you will be able to hear her voice quaking as she tearfully delivers the lyrics. You will be witnessing true talent here and what a shame that she is no longer with us.
An inquest heard last week the Winehouse was five times over the drink-drive limit when she was found dead on her bed by her bodyguard. The main consolation to many fans is that no drugs were found in the singers body, as she was clean from drugs since 2009.
Also included on the album is the final song Amy recorded. That was Body & Soul, recorded with Tony Bennett. The session was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London in March this year, and has been marked from friends and family as one of the happiest times in the stars short life.
This fantastic album from Amy Winehouse is a perfect final goodbye and a tribute to true talent. Released December 5th 2011. From every album sold £1 will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which is helping children's charities.
