James Morrison is about to release his third album The Awakening. Following the tragic death of his father to alcoholism James has written some powerful songs in relation to his loss. Resulting in this album being in two halves.
One half is about how James sees life and how he is looking to the future and the other half is about his Dad. James wrote most of the second half of the album in the six weeks after his loss. Describing this period as a depressing time and a personal journey.
Also how he had an awakening realising life must go on and to keep strong - lending a hand to title the new album.
He says this album is also an awakening to discovering who he is as a musician. Admitting he was not a fan of his second album Songs For You, Truths For Me, as there were too many ballads.
Coming from being a man's man playing to crowded pubs and being one of the lads, he describes he romantic persona as not being the real James Morrison.
So with a new album under his belt, and a less soppy album we are about to "Discover" the "Truth" about James through his "Songs". New album The Awakening is out on 26th September 2011.
